Around the world, MMI works together with local healthcare professionals and effective training programs to develop skills gained through residency and fellowship opportunities. The purpose is to develop quality people that will serve the MMI mission of bringing quality health care to those in need.
It’s not just about training medical professionals, but also training the support staff, administrators, etc. We must train the whole team so that together we are building capacity for the future that continues to increase over times.
Unfortun
ately, for many health care professionals, economic obstacles and a lack of local programs keep them from pursuing their dreams and increasing their skills. MMI identifies candidates for residency training programs and assists them with tuition, room and board as they continue their education and strengthen their medical knowledge. Currently, MMI supports residents and fellows from 13 countries in training programs located in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Paraguay and Azerbaijan. Over recent years, MMI graduates from almost 20 countries, have returned to their home countries with new skills to serve those in need.
