Overview
Our first project in Fiji was in 2012. We have a health Center here with an optical shop and the only Audiologist serving the poor in this region. We are excited about the possibilities to serve this region and would love to have you join one of our pioneer project teams!

About Ba:
The South Pacific nation of Fiji is comprised of 322 islands. About 100 are inhabited and the rest of the islands remain nature preserves. The majority of Fiji is mountainous with several peaks exceeding 3,000 feet. The smaller islands are a mixture of coral and limestone.

Climate:
Fiji enjoys tropical conditions throughout the year with gentle trade winds tempering the heat and humidity. Fiji receives 100 inches of rain annually. The rainy season is from December to April. The seasons in Fiji are opposite that in the Northern Hemisphere.

You will be in Fiji during the dry winter season. Temperatures will range from 22° C (66° F) to 31° C (88° F).
Immunization Requirements:
None required. Please check with a travel physician or clinic, local health department or the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for other recommendations. Routine immunizations should be up-to-date.

The team will stay at a basic hotel while on the project.

Meals:
Meals are provided by MMI staff. Be sure to bring your own re-usable water bottle with a wide mouth for refilling with purified water supplied by MMI.
Daily Program (subject to change)
The daily program will be explained by your project director at the orientation meeting on the day after the team arrives. A typical schedule of your day will be:
Monday-Friday
6:30 am Breakfast and Devotional time
8:00 am Departure to clinic site
Lunch at project site
4:30 pm Close clinic and back to accommodations
6:30 pm Supper

Weekend Plans
There will be some touring options on the weekend for you to consider for some rest and relaxation.
