Currently Recruiting for Primary, Preventative, Surgical and Dental Care Participants
The medical team travels every day to a different village. We set up in schools, community rooms or small Christian Churches. The hours are from 8:30AM – 4:00PM depending on patient numbers. Sometimes we have 2 medical teams. The surgery team goes to the same hospital (same hours). Sometimes there are emergencies which affect the daily schedule.

Immunization Requirements:
No immunizations are required to enter the Dominican Republic. All routine immunizations should be up to date. Please check with your local health department, a travel physician or clinic or the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to see if they recommend anything for your trip.

Country Entry Requirements:
A visa is not required. A US passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry is required. A $10 tourist card must be purchased when you enter the airport in the DR. All minors traveling need to leave with the same parent or guardian that they came with. Please contact the US State department’s travel website for current information about entry requirements for the Dominican Republic.

Canadian Citizens: Canadians must present a passport, which much be valid for the duration of their stay. Tourist Visa is required at a cost of US $10. A departure tax of US $20 is required. http://travel.gc.ca/destinations/dominican-republic

Medical/Dental Professionals:
Please send a copy of your current diploma and license. MD, DDS, DMD, RN, NP, PA, and surgeons, please send your CV also. Surgeons need to send their surgical privileges list as well.
Accommodations:
The team will stay at a basic hotel, guest house, or dorm.
Bed Linens: bring linens and an extra sheet and pillowcase, if desired
Bath Towels: bring a bath-size towel, hand towel/washcloth
Meals:
Meals are provided by MMI staff. Be sure to bring your own re-usable water bottle with a wide mouth for refilling with purified water supplied by MMI.
Daily Program (subject to change)
The daily program will be explained by your project director at the orientation meeting on the day after the team arrives. A typical schedule of your day will be:
Monday-Friday
6:30 am Breakfast and Devotional time
7:30 am Departure to clinic site
Lunch at project site
4:30 pm Close clinic and back to accommodations
6:00 pm Supper
