Marie (we are not using her real name) had already traveled for hours on an overcrowded bus, when she had to walk another 3 hours to get to the clinic site. By the time she had arrived, the line to be seen was long. But, she was just not there for physical care – she was there for more spiritual care. As she waited, she sought out one of the volunteers, Ms. Priscilla, who happened to be helping out with the line of patients. Marie* walked up to Ms. Priscilla and simply asked “Do you have a bible?” It turned out that in her small community, only the pastor had access to the bible, yet there are many who would love to be able to read and study and learn the Word of God for themselves.
